ISRO is going to launch his satellite by using Elon Musk Falcon rocket the weight of satellite is 4700 kgs. ISRO is planning to launch GSAT 20 satellite by using Falcon 9 heavy lift launcher in the second quarter of 2024.
ISRO Joins Elon Musk’s Led SpaceX For Launching GSAT-20 Satellite
They are doing this to meet the broadband communication needs of the country NSIL India mentioned in their X Post.
As per NSIL, the GSAT-20 satellite provides high-throughput capacity by using Ka-Ka band, Also mentioned that it will be featuring 32 beams that will cover the whole country including Andaman & Nicobar, Jammu & Kashmir, and Lakshadweep islands.
“NSIL is realising GSAT-20 satellite through ISRO and will be launched on board Falcon 9 under a launch service contract between M/s NSIL and M/s SpaceX, USA,” NSIL said this in their press release.
