Approx 44,000 Startups Registered in PM Modi’s Startup India

In the last 4 years, the trend of startups in India has increased a lot. According to the data of the Commerce Ministry, about 42,733 startups have been registered with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) in 2020.

If we talk about 2016 when our Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi launched Startup India, Around 405 startups were registered in 2016. Thereafter about 5,420 startups were registered in 2017 and about 8,946 startups registered in 2018 and around 11,683 startups were recognized by the government in 2019. And about 14,778 startups were registered in 2020, if we calculate the complete data, then around 42,733 startups have been registered by the end of 2020.

MoS Commerce and Industry Som Parkash said sharing all the data was submitted in the Lok Sabha in the written format. By 17 February 2021, 44,000 startups have been registered in Startup India, which is recognized by the Indian government. If we analyze the whole data a little bit, then we know that the trend of startups in India is growing fast. There are some things that many startup founders are not aware. I tell you that if you are registered in Startup India, it is not that you have received approval from DPIIT. DPIIT is a completely different platform. A separate document has to be verified for approval.

However, after registering in Startup India, you will get many programmes, government schemes, state policies for startups, and more, In addition, you can apply in many government schemes as well. If you get approved by DPIIT, then you also get benefits such as Access to SIDBI Fund of Funds, relaxation in public procurement norms, intellectual property services, and many more.
