The midsize SUV Tata Harrier from Tata Motors is now available with a facelift.
Preorders can be made for it for Rs 25,000 both online and through its dealer network.
It comes in four different flavors: Smart, Pure, Adventure, and Fearless.
Exterior
The entry-level Smart trim shares the same fascia as the updated version.
Thus, it has the same connected LED DRLs, blacked-out grille, and vertically stacked LED projector headlights in housings that resemble triangles.
A black air dam and a silver skid plate are also included in the bumper.
As a cheaper variant, it does not have LED fog lamps, but it does have a shark fin antenna.
In terms of the profile, this is identical to the Smart’s base specifications.
For instance, the front doors’ lower parts bear the identical 5-spoke alloy wheels and the word “Harrier.”
It also gets a wiper, washer, and a sizable silver skid plate at the back, along with a connected LED tail light arrangement.
The word “Harrier” is inscribed in a new font on the tailgate.
Interior
There aren’t many modifications either within the cabin.
Two digital screens are included (10.25-inch each for infotainment and instrumentation).
However, it features the same dual-tone interior design motif as the Smart model, including grey cloth upholstery and a touch-screen climate control panel.
To be fair, it comes with a brand-new 4-spoke steering wheel with audio and phone controls and the illuminated “Tata” emblem, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 6-speaker audio system, electrically adjustable and folding ORVMs, and a 45W Type-C fast charger.
A larger 12.3-inch touchscreen, voice-activated dual-zone climate control, a 10-speaker JBL audio system, a voice-activated panoramic sunroof, and ventilated front seats are included in higher models.
Safety
Six airbags, electronic stability control, a TPMS, a reversing camera, and cornering stability control are included with the Pure model.
Additional variations include a 360-degree camera, seven driver-side knee airbags, and advanced driver assistance technologies (ADAS).
Powertrain
The same 2-liter diesel engine (170PS/350Nm) and 6-speed manual and automatic transmission choices are available here.
The only available transmission for this version is the manual.
It is marginally more fuel-efficient, though.
Launch
It is anticipated that the Harrier facelift will arrive in the upcoming weeks.
The cost will probably be about Rs 15 lakh.
The Mahindra XUV700, MG Hector, Kia Seltos, and Hyundai Creta are competitors.
